In 1969, Elizabeth Kübler-Ross, a Swiss psychiatrist, published her book On Death and Dying, which introduced the concept of The Five Stages of Grief – denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. There has since been a lot of debate over the accuracy and limitations of her diagnosis.
