From Shetland, to Germany and the world…

This week’s Beatcroft Social, plus some doggerel inspired by what’s going on at the Euros (especially the Tartan Army, sponsored, it seems by the industrial toxin which is Buckfast chronic wine)

You can listen to this week’s Beatcroft Social as it goes out from 7-9pm on 60 North Radio here, or after 9.00pm it will be streaming on Mixcloud here. The playlist is at the end of this post.

In Germany: It’s the hope that kills you…

My Dacia Duster died in downtown Cologne

And I can’t charge my mobile phone

I’ve run out of phenobarbitone

And the  Buckfast too

I could have done without that incident

The guy from Larkhall and his pop-up tent

In all my actions I was innocent

They were misconstrued

I bought a camper van, it wasn’t dear

Volkswagens seem quite plentiful out here

I can’t get it out of  second gear

It’s just the way they’re built

Gave a lift to Bob from Ochiltree

He hitchhiked all the way to Germany

Said he got lifts quite easily

Going commando in a kilt

Now we’re in Stuttgart facing Hungary

The masterplan is working  perfectly

We’ll be defeated, proudly, wonderfully

It’s the path Scots always choose

Those Flower of Scotland words are glorious

Send homeward all of those lovers of  Liz Truss

Only one thing really matters to us

And it’s that England lose…
