La Ballade Du Ronflement (The Snoring Song)

For all those in the battle for undisturbed slumber…

She said it’s not that I don’t love you any more

We’re eternally united at the core

I still have romantic feelings

But plaster’s falling from the ceiling

I don’t find you boring

It’s the snoring

Your nasal passages are constricted

My sleep is terribly restricted

I’ve tried sympathy and tact

But you still lie upon your back

there’s no ignoring

The snoring

He replied I swear I’m quiet as a mouse

The structural integrity of the house

Is threatened by vibration here

It’s not me it’s you my dear

I try hard to be adoring

It’s you that’s snoring

You claim it’s completely normal respiration

But I’m afraid you flirt with suffocation

You simply don’t believe

sometimes you cease to breathe

I’m imploring

Stop your snoring

In order to avoid marital doom

They thought it best to move to separate rooms

So now they wheeze alone

Sounding just like two trombones

Thus underscoring

The snoring
